Habitat - Deserts are harsh environments that are arid with high temperatures. Shrubs and cacti dominate desert plant life. Two kinds of Desert occur in North America. In the cool deserts of the Great Basin sagebrush dominates the land, while in the hot southwest creosote bush, cholla, and cacti dominate the landscape.
